Computer Engineers design computer hardware and systems for all aspects of daily life and in any industry where computer and autonomous systems are prevalent – driverless cars, autonomous aerial vehicles, Artificial Intelligence Systems, computer hardware design, medical equipment, automotive and transport sector, smart buildings, automated public infrastructure, manufacturing, automated production line processes and service delivery and design of personal electronic devices and Internet of Things.
They work across a wide range of sectors including robotics and manufacturing, surveillance, medical, transport, construction, telecommunications, power generation and distribution, renewable energy, resources – any industry which requires personnel with expertise in the design and applications of computer systems and hardware, especially the interfacing of computers with other machinery.
In the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Computer Engineering you will study electrical engineering, software design and hardware-software integration, from the development of super computers to circuit design. You will acquire specialist expertise in the fields of computer architecture and software design to combine hardware and software solutions to solve practical problems. You will also master a range of programming tools and skills required for developing programs for both hardware and software systems.
Student will complete their Bachelor’s degree in 4 years.
